You should not use IPL treatments over tattoos; however, you can treat around them.
Is IPL treatments safe over freckles or moles?
You should not use this handset over very dark fleckless or moles. However, it can be use over light freckles.

What if I was getting laser treatments at a clinic?

Why the handset does not flash when I place it on the skin?
Please make sure the handset is at a 90-degree angle to the skin, so the built.in intelligent sensor can detect the skin and enable the flash key.
Why the handset produces a strange smell?
Usually, this happens when the flash window is dirty, or the treated area has not been adequately shaved. The burned hair produces the smell.
Why did my skin reaction last longer than usual after a treatment?
You may have used a light intensity level too low for your skin type, or your skin has more resistance than the average laser treatment.
Why does the handset / adapter becomes warm during use? Is this normal?
Yes, it is normal. The handset produces a large amount of energy when it emits lights, which causes the handset to warm up.
Why should we shave before using the handset?
The goal is to reach the hair follicle as quickly as possible. Shaving before treatment is essential to achieve the best results.
Can I use this handset before or after tanning?
If you have been tanning recently, we recommend waiting two weeks before using your handset. You should wait 48 hours to tan after using your handset. Artificial tan should not be on your skin while using your handset.

Yes, Men can use Vellut platinum to treat arms, armpits, legs, abdomen, back, and chest.
Which hair removal method can I use between treatments?
If required, between treatments you should only shave. Do not wax, pluck, or epilate as these hair removal methods removes the entire root, which is what absorbs the light during the treatment.
Do I need to stay out of the sun after using this handset?
After treatment, we recommend using sunscreen SPF 15 whenever treated areas may be exposed to the sun.
My skin turned red, and I felt discomfort after using the handset. Is this a problem?
Treated skin may temporarily turn red or feel discomfort depending on the skin type or if the light intensity level is too high for the skin tone. Consult a dermatologist if the above symptoms do no disappear in 48 hours.

Does Vellut platinum works for all skin tones and hair colors?
Vellut is suitable for a variety of skin tones and hair color however, IPL treatment relies in the hair absorbing the light energy, and therefore IPL treatment is not effective on red, blonde, light blonde, red or gray hair. In the case of the skin, the light energy may be more attracted to the pigments in the skin rather than the melanin in the hair, making IPL treatments not effective on the darkest skin tones.
Who is not suitable for Vellut platinum handset?
Pregnant and nursing women. In the intended treatment area, people with eczema, psoriasis, lesions, open wounds, or active infections (e.g., cold sores) should wait for the skin area to heal before using the handset completely. People with a history of keloid scar formation. People taking medication which make the skin more sensitive to light, including non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (N-SAIDs, e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen), tetracyclines, phenothiazines, thiazide, diuretics, sulfonylureas, sulfonamides, DTIC, fluorouracil, vinblastine, griseofulvin, Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta-Hydroxy Acids (BHAs),Retin-A, Accutane (isotretinoin) and/or topical retinoids. People with abnormal skin conditions caused by diabetes or other systemic or metabolic diseases. People who are currently using or have recently used Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta-Hydroxy Acids (BHAs), Retin-A, topical retinoids, or azelaic acid. People who have used Accutane (isotretinoin) in the past six months. People who have used steroids in the last three months. People with a history of herpes outbreaks (unless a physician has administered a preventative treatment). People with epilepsy. People with active implants, e.g., a pacemaker, incontinence device, insulin pump, etc. People with a photosensitivity-related disease, e.g., porphyria, polymorphic light eruption, solar urticaria, lupus, etc. People with a history of skin cancer or areas of potential skin malignancies. People who have received radiation therapy or chemotherapy within the last three months. Do not use this handset if you diabetes or other systematic or other metabolic disease. If you have congestive heart disease, a history of vascular, blood or any bleeding disorder. If you have a diseased related to photosensitivity, if your skin in sensitive to light and easily develops a rash or an allergic reaction. If you have a history of immunosuppressive disease.
